Whipsaw

A whipsaw happens when the system quickly flip flops in or out of the market producing a string of small losses and missed opportunities. It’s a very frustrating part of rule-based strategies, and it frequently leads people to start second guessing the system. There are simple solutions to the problem, but you cannot remove it completely.
